SWEITZER LAKE

Is located One mile south of Delta on Hwy. 50. Its a day park with good picnic sites around 173-acre lake. Swimming, boating, jet ski, watch able wildlife viewing. then 1/2 mile east on E. road. A western slope oasis! Visitors come to Sweitzer Lake, near Delta, for relaxed boating and water skiing as well as excellent waterfowl watching and hunting. Camping is not allowed at Sweitzer. Built solely for recreation, Sweitzer Lake fulfills its planned purpose well. Water-ski, swim, picnic, fish, boat, bird watch or just sit and enjoy the clear air.

BLACK CANYON

Only 13 Miles away from the Western Motel. A Unique and spectacular landscape was formed slowly by the action of water and rock scouring down through hard Proterozoic crystalline rock. No other canyon in North America combines the narrow opening, sheer walls, and startling depths offered by the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

GRAND MESA

Is located about 45 minutes north of Montrose. It is the largest flattop mountain in the United States with innumerable lakes for fishing, many hiking and snowmobile trails as well as campgrounds and the Powderhorn ski area.

TELLURIDE

Located a one hour away, this is something you and your family will enjoy its gondola ride located at

the sky are will take you from one end of Telluride to the next. There is no charge for the ride and the views are breath taking. BLUE MESA

Is only 47miles away. When you take a ride to the blue lake you'll really think your in heaven. The Crystal Blue water will impress you as much as it does for me every time I take a drive passed. You can rent pontoon boats, fishing boats and jet skis or bring your own.
